How to Create Adaptive Online Learning (M212)

Speaker: Shakeel Malik

We believe that adaptive learning is the answer to e-learning fatigue. Adaptive learning moves away from the singular approach of delivering content of traditional e-learning. It is eLearning that adapts in real-time to the needs of each learner by accurately measuring each learner's strengths and weaknesses to determine where to put more emphasis, remediate and save employees time. Recent research by one of our multi-national clients into the effectiveness of adaptive learning over traditional learning demonstrated a reduced time spent on training by 50% on average. The presenters will discuss the key functions in building an adaptive learning module: Learning Objectives Questions Learning Resources Audience will be engaged to discuss practical approaches to breaking down each function and learn how to make traditional content 'adaptable' for a global audience, in a workshop-style session. Presenters will also facilitate a comparative conversation on the differences between traditional and adaptive eLearning methods and focus on topics such as: using granulized learning objectives to build the scope of the course using confidence checks to address unconscious incompetence using valid and reliable assessments ensuring no loss of meaning when products are translated for the international community. Presenters will conclude the session by outlining the benefits of creating an adaptive learning module for the learner and organization.
