Motivating Millennials: New Research Into Unlocking Their Passions (TU214)

Speaker: Christopher Kendrick

In 10 years, 75 percent of the worldwide workforce will be Millennials, people now in their 20s and early 30s. This fact presents challenges for some managers who remain unaware of the unique nature of this generation. For example, on average Millennials tend to change jobs more frequently. A typical American worker stays in a job 4.4 years, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, more than 90 percent of millennials are job-hopping every two to three years, meaning most will have 15 or more jobs in their working lives. So, what are the best leaders doing to understand and motivate younger workers? This session offers a method for you to identify core motivators and determine disconnects between passions and work.
